Findb is in pre-launch. These terms will be updated before the app opens to the public.
Findb is about turning "we should do that sometime" into actually doing it, with people you haven't met yet. That only works if everyone feels safe, welcome and respected. These guidelines explain what we expect from every member and host. They form part of our Terms of Use.
Be who you say you are
Use your real name and a recent, clear photo of yourself. Every member who joins or hosts completes a selfie check, so people can trust that the face on the profile is the person turning up.
Don't use someone else's photos, create fake or duplicate accounts, or misrepresent your age, interests or intentions. One person, one account.
Respect everyone
Findb is for everyone. Treat people the way you'd want to be treated, in messages, at plans and in reviews.
We don't tolerate harassment, bullying, threats, intimidation or hate. That includes discrimination or abuse based on race, ethnicity, nationality, religion, gender, gender identity, sexual orientation, disability, age or any other part of who someone is. Disagree respectfully, and if a conversation isn't going anywhere good, step away.
Show up
When you say you're coming, come. Hosts plan around numbers, booking tables, buying supplies, organising transport, and no-shows let everyone down.
If your plans change, cancel through the app as early as you can. Running late? Let the group know in the chat. Repeated no-shows or last-minute cancellations affect your standing on Findb.
Keep it safe
Most plans are great fun. A few simple habits help keep them that way:
- Meet in public for first plans. When you're meeting people for the first time, choose plans in public places, and avoid going somewhere private with people you don't know yet.
- Tell someone. Let a friend or family member know where you're going. You can add a trusted contact in the app, who'll be notified when you check in.
- Know your limits. Only join plans that suit your fitness and experience, and bring the right gear.
- Drink responsibly. If alcohol is part of the plan, pace yourself, look out for each other, and never drive or ride after drinking.
- Listen to the host. Follow any safety briefing and the rules of the venue or location.
- Trust your gut. You can leave any plan at any time, for any reason.
If anyone is in immediate danger, call 000 first, then let us know.
Keep money in the app
Always pay and get paid through Findb. Payments made in the app are processed securely, and if a host cancels a paid plan, you get your money back.
Never send money by bank transfer, gift cards, crypto or payment apps for a Findb plan. If someone asks you to pay outside the app, offers a deal that seems too good to be true, or asks for your banking or login details, it's very likely a scam. Don't pay, report it.
Hosting well
Great hosts make Findb what it is. If you host:
- Be accurate. Describe the plan honestly, where, when, what's involved and the level of fitness or skill needed.
- Be clear about costs. Show every cost and your cancellation terms upfront. No surprise charges on the day.
- Be inclusive. Welcome people fairly. You can set reasonable requirements for safety or skill, but don't exclude people because of who they are.
- Be prepared. Get any permits, bookings or approvals you need, give a safety briefing where it makes sense, and keep the plan within what your group can safely handle.
- Be there. Turn up on time, and if you have to cancel, do it early so people can make other plans.
No unwanted advances
Findb is for doing things together, not for hitting on people. Plenty of friendships start at plans, and that's great, but nobody should be made to feel uncomfortable.
Consent matters, always. No unwanted touching, sexual comments, explicit messages or images, or repeated contact after someone has said no or stopped replying. Don't use group chats to single people out, and don't ask for someone's number or socials if they've shown they're not interested. If someone blocks you, respect it and move on.
Illegal or dangerous activity isn't allowed
Don't host, promote or take part in anything illegal or recklessly dangerous through Findb. That includes illegal drugs, weapons, street racing or unsafe driving at car meets, unlicensed sale of alcohol, gambling, and any activity that puts people at serious risk of harm.
Commercial spam, recruitment schemes and selling unrelated products or services also aren't allowed.
Reporting and what happens next
If something doesn't feel right, tell us. You can report a member, plan, message or review in the app, or email hello@findb.co. You can also block anyone at any time, they won't be told.
Reports are confidential. We won't tell the person you reported who made the report. We look into reports, may contact the people involved, and take action where needed. We'll let you know when we've looked into it, although we may not be able to share every detail to protect others' privacy.
Please only make genuine reports. Making false reports to target someone is itself a breach of these guidelines.
Consequences
When someone breaks these guidelines, we act in proportion to what happened. That might mean a warning, removing content or a plan, limiting features, removing a badge or host level, holding payouts, or suspending or permanently removing an account. For serious matters, such as violence, threats, sexual misconduct or scams, we may remove someone straight away and, where appropriate, share information with police.
If you think we've made the wrong call, contact us and we'll take another look.
Thanks for helping make Findb a place where everyone can find their people. See you out there.
